One Hour of Art

I will make what I can in one hour and will then send it you. I will prepare papers and art supplies before the time begins so that I will spend the entire 60 minutes making drawings, paintings, prints, sculptures etc. Packing and shipping will also not be included in the one hour. I am not sure what I will make during the hour. Each one is different. You can give me certain ideas that you might hope to have included in your hour’s art (“drawings of giraffes, automobiles, 3D things”) that I will try to include in some way, but try not to make them too intense for the hour (“an oil painting of my Aunt May based on this blurry family photo from 1967, a large, to scale, diorama of the Battle of Antietam, and a life size clay sculpture of a Beluga Whale”). You will receive a note stating the One Hour that was yours and all of the artwork in the mail within one week.

Not winter coat, scarf and mittens - shopping bags and rubber gloves.

Changed the website

I thought I’d use the tumblelog as a bit of a personal scrapbook, and I had the dubber.co.nz domain lying around, so I thought - well, that’s personal. So here it is. This will no longer just be an autofeed of my del.icio.us bookmarks, but will kind of occupy a territory between my personal blog and my Twitter feed.

So - there’ll be pictures, the odd video, distractions and just stuff I want to keep track of. There was a time when I thought that I might shift everything over to a tumblelog format - but I love Twitter in all its social microblogging simplicity, and I also love the more comprehensive nature of the official ‘All About Me’ site too.

But this seems to fill a gap. It’s for me, and anyone who’s interested in more than just the ‘what am I doing now’ blurts.

Mostly, this will be for ‘isn’t this cool?’ type posts.

Why Do So Many People Freak Out When They See 'Free' As Part Of A Business Model?

Why Do So Many People Freak Out When They See 'Free' As Part Of A Business Model?:
There’s a blog post by entrepreneur Hank Williams apparently attacking the concept of “free” and blaming venture capitalists, saying that they’re overfunding a bunch of startups allowing them to give…

Tough year leaves EMI trailing the music majors

Tough year leaves EMI trailing the music majors:
EMI was the worst performer among the four music majors last year, with its recorded music market share falling by nearly two percentage points to 10.9 per cent after a year of profit warnings and…

Policing internet 'not ISP's job'

Policing internet 'not ISP's job':
Our position is very clear.
