I’m not really a gamer, but I’m very interested in the storytelling possibilities within the medium of games - and I’m particularly interested in this one for two reasons (other than the obvious ‘this is a good story’ one).
First, the voice acting appears to be superb. They have put the human voice at the centre of the game and it really makes an amazing impact. It’s something that all the reviews make mention of.
Second, they’ve released the soundtrack album on Bandcamp. Think ‘the music from Firefly’ and sprinkle a bit of Portishead in there just for fun, and you’re pretty close. Acoustic frontier trip hop - and it’s very good. Best of all, they’re so well integrated that listening to the album is actually a spoiler for the game.
Awesome.
